Evaluation in Outpatient

In outpatient occupational therapy, after receiving an Occupational Therapy referral from a physician and completing a chart review, the occupational therapist on the patient’s care team conducts an evaluation to determine the patient’s current functional status, specific impairments, and occupational performance challenges. This comprehensive evaluation assesses physical, cognitive, emotional, and environmental factors impacting the patient’s ability to engage in meaningful daily activities. The findings guide the development of a personalized intervention plan focused on optimizing independence, improving functional abilities, and achieving the patient’s occupational goals.
